Since corten steel contains a small percentage of copper, slugs instinctively avoid it. Copper reacts with slug slime, keeping them away from your corten steel bed edging.

Apply the rust accelerator with a sponge, and your edging will be fully rusted within approximately 10 hours. Without a rust accelerator, this process can take several weeks to months depending on weather conditions.

How to install corten steel bed edging

Thanks to the convenient click system, connecting the bed edging pieces is very easy. This edging is highly flexible and can be installed in smooth lines, but it can also form sharp corners. You can bend these corners to a right angle by placing a brick or another heavy, straight object at the bending point, then bend the edging around it to create a perfect corner. The pins are attached to the steel, making installation very simple! Below are 5 easy steps.

• Step 1: Determine where you want to use the edging and calculate how many meters you need.
• Step 2: Dig a trench with a spade where you want to place the edging. Recommended depth: 80 to 100 mm for a neat finish.
• Step 3: Place the bed edging in the trench and slide the pieces together. Secure them by bending the tab at the end.
• Step 4: Hammer the pins into the ground with a rubber mallet. Use a level to ensure the edging is straight. You can reinforce it with hardwood stakes.
• Use an angle grinder to adjust the length if necessary.
• Step 5: Fill the trench with gravel or soil depending on the intended use.
